Ferrofluid — a site with zero images
The challenge
Strip away every crutch: no photography, no stock, no generated images, no icon packs. Build a site for a brand whose whole identity is motion — a fictional kinetic sculpture studio — using nothing but code.
The approach
One self-contained HTML file. Every visual is a shader, a gradient, or typography doing work. The constraint is the portfolio piece: when a studio can make a page feel expensive with literally no assets, the design system is doing all the lifting.
Craft details
- Everything-is-code visuals — procedural shaders and gradient fields stand in for every image a normal site would license
- Single-file build — the entire site ships as one HTML document, trivially portable and fast by construction
